Statement of Principles & Terms of Use
A Personal Note from the Author, David Gross:
Dated: Tuesday, July 22, 2025
Thank you for being here. I am writing this update to be transparent about my ongoing personal journey. This past weekend (July 18-21, 2025), I recognize that I again displayed aggression in my online discourse. My struggle with mental illness continues to be a challenge, and I am still learning how to manage it.
Recently, a number of things have made me very angry: the content of a show on Hulu, the extreme violence in Syria, the passage of the GENIUS stablecoin bill, and the push for initiatives like Saudi Vision 2030. I am also deeply frustrated by what I see as contradictions in policy and rhetoric, such as President Trump's investments in Sharia-compliant finance, the ongoing discussions about Hamas's ties to Qatar, and the fact that a call for the Ayatollah's "unconditional surrender" during the recent conflict with Israel did not appear to materialize. All of this, combined with the constant, distracting news cycle around figures like Obama and Epstein and the violent rhetoric from groups like ANTIFA, pulls focus from our nation's true problems.
In response to this anger, I lashed out at public officials in the Trump administration, Republicans, and other users on "X". I am truly sorry for this. I apologize once again for my behavior.
In the past, my approach was often to delete tweets that contained profanity, like the "f-word" or "s-word". This time, I am leaving the content up. The process of constantly curating my own posts has become too consuming, and frankly, it feels less than genuine. While I know the aggression and unprofessionalism tarnish whatever merit might be in those posts, I believe it's more honest to leave them as a record of this ongoing struggle. Separately, my older content remains in a personal archive, and I may decide to make it publicly available someday.
My belief that aggression and the use of expletives are counterproductive remains unchanged. It is a personal struggle, and I am still learning to be calm. My goal to foster a community built on robust and passionate debate, rooted in respect and a constructive spirit, has not changed. These terms are written to reflect that ongoing commitment, both for myself and for those who engage with my work.
Article I: Content Philosophy & Purpose
I. Nature of Content: You acknowledge that all content created by the Author is commentary and opinion, intended to provoke thought and discussion on political and economic issues, specifically regarding the principles of a self-reliant nation.
II. Evolution of Style: The Author is committed to striving for a calm and non-threatening style of communication. This is an ongoing process, and the Author acknowledges there may be setbacks, as detailed in the personal note. While archives contain past content with a more aggressive tone, the Author's goal for all present and future work is to be guided by the principles of respectful discourse.
III. No Professional Advice: The content is not, and should not be construed as, professional, financial, legal, or clinical advice. Any discussion of the Author's personal experiences, including mental health, is for context and commentary only and does not constitute a clinical disclosure or a request for diagnosis.
Article II: Community Agreement & Good-Faith Engagement
I. Agreement to Engage in Good Faith: In consideration for access to this content, you agree to engage with the material and its community in good faith. This platform is for the exchange of ideas, even controversial ones.
II. Content as Opinion: You acknowledge that the content consists of the Author's opinions and subjective interpretations. You agree that disagreement with an opinion, or feeling offended by political commentary or hyperbole, does not form a basis for legal claims such as defamation, libel, slander, or emotional distress. By participating here, you voluntarily accept the risk of encountering opinions you may find disagreeable.
Article III: Platform Safety & True Threats
I. Commitment to Safety: This platform has a zero-tolerance policy for "True Threats." A True Threat is defined by established legal standards as a serious expression of an intent to commit an act of unlawful violence against a particular individual or group.
II. Distinction from Hyperbole: You agree that rhetorical, political, or satirical hyperbole does not meet the standard of a True Threat.
III. Reporting: This safety commitment applies to all participants, including the Author. Baseless or bad-faith accusations of threats are a violation of these terms and undermine the trust of the community.
Article IV: Limitation of Liability & Consequences of Breach
I. Waiver of Claims: By accessing this content, you knowingly and voluntarily waive your right to bring any claims arising from the good-faith expression of opinion as outlined in Article II.
II. Breach of Terms: You agree that initiating a prohibited legal action or making a bad-faith accusation in violation of these terms causes significant harm. Should you breach this agreement, you agree to be held responsible for all legal fees and costs incurred by the Author in defending against such an action. This clause exists to protect the community's ability to engage in open discussion without being disrupted by frivolous or bad-faith litigation.
