This app displays still images from the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). It also displays still images and animated image loops from the Solar & Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO).
Abbreviations:
HMI = Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager
AIA = Atmospheric Imaging Assembly
EIT = Extreme Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope
The animations will auto-play after a loading period, unless you are using Low Power Mode (yellow battery icon, upper-right). In which case, you have to play the video manually with a tap.
The Lasco C3 Transit Info page identifies planets, asteroids, comets, etc. that will transit this field-of-view. This page requires you to accept a US Navy .mil SSL certificate.
